Our Journey to Justice campaign is an opportunity to celebrate and shine a light on the important work our volunteers are doing to empower communities, live out our simple (but powerful!) calling to "just love," and engage in lifelong social justice work.
Our campaign highlights what it means to journey to justice. Every day, our Good Shepherd Volunteers work toward a more just world at nonprofit placements serving women, children, and adolescents experiencing poverty, violence, and neglect.
Justice isn’t achieved overnight. The pursuit of justice is lifelong work and GSV has been helping young people begin their journey for nearly three decades. It’s a journey that has led our alumni to go on to become social workers, teachers, lawyers, and advocates—taking the values learned during their year forward into a lifetime of engaged compassion.
But our work is only possible with the support of generous donors like you. We hope you’ll join us to take part in our biggest fundraiser of the year and help us reach our goal to raise $20,000. Your contributions allow us to offer training, retreats, and support to our volunteers so they can increase capacity at social service agencies working in education, youth counseling, juvenile justice, domestic violence, and public policy and advocacy.
This past summer our campaign saw a major (and literal) journey for justice! GSV Board member and alum Saul Martinez (06-07) embarked on a one-day bike ride with Unbound Gravel–a journey of 200 miles!–to raise awareness and funds for this life-changing work.
